SOLD
Very sad to announce that TA 14 owner Dr Philip Wright has passed away.
Philip only acquired his Mulliners Saloon restoration project recently and a new owner is now sought for the car that is residing in Maldon, Essex.
Chassis 23009, Registration FDM 544, Coachbuilder Mulliners, Body No. M1256. She left the Alvis factory as a rolling chassis on the 7th March 1949.

The car is a genuine restoration project and was previously offered for sale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1995.
At the time it was stated that the late owner had owned the car for some years.
‘It’s restoration was said to be well advanced and to a standard one would expect from an aircraft engineer.
It is understood that the engine runs smoothly, the battery holds its charge and the car is driveable..
The car comes with papers.
The car was sold again at Auction by Bonhams in 2019.
Offers are invited in the region of £950.

A True Believer
Very sorry to announce that Richard passed away recently and his funeral has now been held.
Richard was a true enthusiast for TA 14s in all their forms.
Richard owned 3 TA 14s, a Carbodies Drophead Coupe, a Woodie bodied by Jensen, subsequently rebodied about 1963 by Thomas William Marshall and was in the process of creating a Special by rebodying a Mulliners to a Saloon body and that is work in progress. He had lifelong interest in our cars and is a great loss to our world of Fourteen enthusiasts. He purchased his cherished Carbodies Dhc. , chassis and engine 22388 in 1968 and had one of the longest custodianship of a TA 14 for 54 years. The car is a good example of a car that was used and kept in good running order as opposed to Concours. Richard and the car were attendees at various Alvis Owner Club Days. In 1970 he added a Mulliners Saloon, chassis 22318 engine 22100 to the stable and this car was the Special he was working on. In 1981 he added a Woodie to the stable, chassis 20977 engine 22318 and this remained another good working car.
As expected with this fleet he left a copious quantity of spares!
Sadly there are no family members who can carry on the Alvis experience in the family.
Our sympathies are to his widow Anne and son Brent who will always have the happy memories of Richard and his Alvises.
Ideally a purchaser is sought for the 3 three cars and assortment of spares, photos below.
A figure in the region of £20 000 is envisaged. It might be possible to purchase individual cars. It may be possible to purchase the spares as a single lot but not as individual items.
All are located in Sussex north of Chichester.
The spares are numerous! And not necessarily all visible in the photos.

6 Alvis Engine Blocks
Yes there is a rare opportunity to acquire 6 Alvis engine blocks for the sum
of £250 for the lot. Yes for the lot not each! You never know when you
might have a cracked block in the future.
2 of the blocks are from TA 14s but we do not yet know the engine numbers. The numbers on the TA 14 blocks are 233T and T261, they will be checked again shortly to try and find more numbers.
3 of the blocks are for TA 21s and the numbers are 24080, 24367 and 24565.
1 block is for a TC21/100 and has the number 25273.
The blocks are located in the north west of England and a purchaser should work on the basis of buyer collects.
It might be possible to purchase an individual block but that will be up to the vendor and the offer made.
The reason for the sale is that the farmhouse where they are located is to be sold.

Spares just available
The rebuild of Mulliners TA 14, chassis 23351 into a very attractive Special (now sold) produced a quantity of surplus spares that are now available as a job lot from East Kent. Sadly following bereavement the spares must find a new home in the near future.
The majority of the spares come from the rebuild although some do not appear to have direct TA 14 origins.
The photos below show the main items available. Ideally the family require to sell as one job lot and if the spares do not find a new home there is a chance they may be scrapped and that would be a shame.
The spares would probably fit in a pallet or on a trailer. No physical assistance can be provided with the packing up of any parts.
The owner is seeking offers approaching £500. The main value appears to be in the new Nave plates (hub caps). There are 8 and the value may well be in the region of £50 per Nave Plate as they are like hens teeth to acquire. The twin carburettor unit is marked up Alvis but may not be from a TA fitted with twin carbs or a TB14. There are a pair of TA 14 rear bumpers, steering column, front and rear axles and everything as shown in the photographs. The Alvis Footplates appear new but could be useful for Specials or Prewar cars.
Anyone travelling to South East Alvis Day would be about 40 miles away from the location of the spares. All items are currently stored in a clean dry garage with easy accessibility for a collecting car and trailer.
Again I should emphasise that ideally the spares are only to be sold as a single job lot at present. I should just mention that CP has been approached but the distance is too far.
Anyone wishing to negotiate for individual spares would need to take cash and collect the parts in person.
Serious potential customers should contact me on the address below and I can make contact with the vendor.
